Emerging technologies such as automation, artificial intelligence and the blockchain are revolutionising the way businesses operate and the legal services sector is no exception. Mills Oakley is supporting innovation by inviting Australian start-up teams to submit concepts for new technologies, applications or business processes that will improve how law firms operate.

About the program

The Mills Oakley Accelerator is an end-to-end innovation program for new law entrepreneurs and start-ups, culminating in a 13-week accelerator that will equip you with the funding, knowledge, tools and support to give your idea the best chance of success.

Mills Oakley, one of Australia's most progressive law firms, has partnered with innovation hub, school and consultancy, Collective Campus, to offer this unique program, designed to deliver up to $500,000 support to Australian entrepreneurs with viable ideas for legal services innovations, through incubation and commercialisation.

How it works

Form a team and submit your details and idea online.

If shortlisted, your team will be invited to participate in a three-day 'bootcamp' in Melbourne, where you'll learn more about the accelerator program, receive guidance from mentors and have an opportunity to present, test and refine your ideas.

After the bootcamp, you'll be invited to pitch your idea to a panel of judges consisting of legal sector and start-up experts.

The winners of the pitch night will be funded to take part in the 13-week accelerator program in early 2017, to support concepts through to commercialisation.

Find out more and apply

Visit the Mills Oakley Accelerator website for full details, terms and conditions, and to apply online.

Submit your team details and idea by 14 October 2016.

Your team must be able to commit to taking part in the three-day bootcamp activity in October 2016 (dates to be advised), pitch night in October 2016 (date to be advised) and, if successful on pitch night, the full 13-week accelerator program in early 2017 (16 January to  14 April).
