What if we could make affordable food by farming crickets, turn air into drinking water, or find energy-saving ways to keep homes cool in hot climates?

What if your idea could change the world?

Shell Ideas360 is a global innovation competition that challenges students around the world to develop game-changing ideas for tackling global energy, water and food issues. The competition is in its third season and last year received over 1,000 ideas from 55 countries. In the first year of the competition a team of Monash University students reached the finals, travelling to Amsterdam to pitch their idea to the judging panel.

Shell Ideas360 is more than just a competition though; it's an exciting journey of learning and discovery where you can collaborate with like-minded innovators and connect with Shell experts and mentors to expand your horizons.

Prizes and incentives

There are many great prizes and incentives up for grabs too, including the opportunity to win a once-in-a-lifetime National Geographic Adventure!

In addition, all ideas submitted to Shell Ideas360 will have the chance to be considered by GameChanger, Shell's innovation incubator, and with connections made through the journey, ideas from past competitions have received interest from external industry backers too. There are lots of opportunities to see your idea become reality.

Competition stages and timeline

The 2015/16 competition runs until June 2016, in three stages.

Stage 1 includes initial registration and ideas submission. Ideas must be submitted by 15 December 2015 and the teams selected to progress to stage 2 will be notified in January 2016.

In Stage 2, teams connect with their Shell mentors and can access expert resources to develop their initial idea. Developed ideas are then to be submitted by 15 April 2016 and the entries chosen to progress to the finals will be announced in May 2016.

Stage 3 involves five teams only - the finalists! - who will prepare to pitch their ideas to the panel of judges in the United Kingdom, then travel there in June 2016 to receive final preparation coaching, attend research and innovation tours and pitch their idea. Finalists will also experience the Shell Eco Marathon and Powering Progress Together forum in London during the trip, where the winner will be announced.
