Shell Ideas360 is a global innovation competition run by Shell International that challenges students around the world to develop game-changing ideas for tackling energy, water and food issues.

Whether you decide to work in a team or on your own, Shell Ideas360 is a chance for you to join an international community of like-minded innovators, have direct access to Shell subject matter experts and mentors, and to learn skills that will be invaluable in your studies as well as your future career.


Competition stages and key dates

  • Stage 1 (Formulate): Until 1 December 2014
    Register online, set up your personal profile submit your idea. Access Google Hangouts and explore online communities to shape your idea before submission.
  • Stage 2 (Develop): 22 January - 8 March 2015
    Develop your idea for a chance to pitch. Shortlisted entrants have access to a designated mentor, as well as support to further develop their idea and leadership and business skills training via Expert Google Hangouts.
  • Stage 3 (Pitch): 14 April - 22 May 2015
    Selected finalists receive a trip to the Netherlands, three days intensive coaching and the opportunity to pitch their ideas to senior Shell executives, innovators and industry leaders. Finalists will also experience the Shell Eco Marathon and Powering Progress Together forum in Rotterdam during the trip.


Winners

The Shell Ideas360 winning team or individual will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join a National Geographic Expedition and a selection of the best ideas from the competition will also be considered for development funding by Shell's GameChanger Programme.
