Humanitarian Affairs United Kingdom and Humanitarian Affairs Asia, members of the World Association of Non-governmental Organisations and the World Alliance for Citizen Participation, will present the 5th annual University Leadership Symposium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 1 to 7 August 2014.
About the symposium
The symposium is an international humanitarian leadership programme where university students can learn about, explore and address global concerns about the plight of those suffering in extreme poverty. It is endorsed by the United Nations Department of Social Affairs and the United Nations Youth Unit in New York.
This year's event will bring together over 1,000 students from leading universities worldwide to discuss issues pertaining to humanitarian matters and sustainable development. The program will also include training sessions on leadership and communication, project management and implementation.
Keynote speaker will be Mr Many Hun, Personal Secretary to the Prime-Minister of Cambodia and the President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia. The event will also feature lectures from acknowledged humanitarians, including CNN Heroes of the Year 2013: Chad Pregracke, 2012: Pushpa Basnet, and 2011: Robin Lim, who will share their experiences with delegates. Other professional motivational trainers will also inspire participants to take concrete action over their lives.
