In today's fast-changing and globalising world, a commitment to social justice, human rights and a sustainable environment, has become increasingly important. To meet this challenge, Monash is endeavouring to equip graduates with the necessary skills and experiences to live, learn, work and contribute globally.

The Vice Chancellor's Ancora Imparo Program has been designed to help passionate and idealistic students prepare for future leadership roles. Participants will have an opportunity to work with other like-minded students and will be provided with an understanding of the visionary and inspirational principles that guide current leaders and have guided leaders in the past.

Forty first year students are chosen annually from students enrolled at Monash's Australian campuses. These students will participate in a three-day residential component prior to first semester and attend monthly seminars. The Program will take place over 12 months during the students' second year of study at Monash.

Many of the seminars will be led by distinguished Australian leaders - especially Monash alumni - and participants will have the opportunity to meet a range of high profile community leaders. It will be a flagship program of the University that, we hope, will bring long- standing benefit to the community.
