Applications are now open for the 2014 Vice-Chancellor's Ancora Imparo Student Leadership Program.

This program seeks to build participants' leadership capacities by providing opportunities for them to share and test their ideas with other students, Monash staff, distinguished alumni and community leaders.

Students are primarily selected during their first year of undergraduate study at Monash University to participate in the program at the university's Victorian campuses during their second year. (In some circumstances, Monash College students and others may also be eligible.)

Selected students will participate in a three-day residential component in February 2014 (just prior to first semester), then attend 8 evening seminars over the two main semesters of 2014, followed by a graduation ceremony. The program offers a range of opportunities and activities that will:

  • draw on and foster your sense of idealism
  • increase your self-understanding
  • affirm and strengthen your confidence in your existing abilities
  • foster an ethic of service
  • enhance your ability to effect positive social change
  • provide you with an opportunity to work with passionate and committed peers
  • facilitate your learning from past and present leaders
